French soprano Emmanuelle Chimento is characterized by her powerful voice, musicality and magnetic stage presence.

In June 2024 she will make her role debut as Salomé, in the opera of Antoine Mariotte at Jena’s Hofoper, followed in July 2024 by a semi-staged version of La Traviata directed by Friederike Kienle.

The 2023 season sees her perform Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder with the Junges Orchester Kollektiv Ulm in several concerts in Germany.

In 2022, she makes her debut at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Le Vol du Boli, created by Abderrahmane Sissako and Damon Albarn. She plays among others the role of « La femme amoureuse du tirailleur ».

Later in the season, she sang for the first time the role of Violetta (La Traviata) in an adaptation by ensemble balance (dir. Friederike Kienle).

She regularly collaborates in concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique Provence Méditerranée (Jacques Chalmeau), Ensemble Balance (Friederike Kienle), the Orchester der Universität Tübingen (Philip Amelung), the pianist Olga Wien..
With different companies, she sang several times the role of Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. 

In 2021, she receives the Prix Espoir du Festival Ravel following her participation in the Académie Ravel in Saint-Jean de Luz.

Born in Aix-en-Provence, Emmanuelle Chimento firstly trained as an actress at the Théâtre des Ateliers and in the Conservatoire de Marseille.

She graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and is currently pursuing a Master's degree at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in the class of Ulrike Sonntag.

In masterclass or private lessons, she receives advice from Hedwig Fassbender, Sophie Koch, Christophe Rousset, Simone Fernani, Margreet Honig, Magali Damonte, Stéphanie d’Oustrac…

Her strong interest in Theatre, which has long permeated her practice as an actress and singer, leads her to experiment stage direction. Her show, Dido and Aeneas, will be performed in September 2023 at the Haydn Festival in La Roche-Posay, before going on tour. In 2024, she will be assistant to director James Bonas at the Opéra Comique (see Staging).
